A bicyclist was seriously injured early Thursday morning when he hit a city street sweeper and was pulled under the machine.

At 1:15 a.m., the street sweeper — with its bristles running — entered the intersection of East 16th Avenue and Ogden Street, said Denver Police Department spokesman Lt. Matt Murray.

The man was riding south on Ogden Street when he hit the street sweeper.

He was taken to Denver Health Medical Center with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

His name was not released, and the investigation was continuing.
