DENVER—Colorado corrections officials are looking into why four inmates have been killed at one state prison in the last two years.

They’re meeting Thursday at the prison in Sterling.

The executive director of the Department of Corrections, Tom Clements, told The Denver Post () that he will be debriefed about each of the four slayings there. He says he wants to see if there are any links between the killings.

The most recent inmate killed was convicted child killer Lyle Brent White, who was serving a life sentence. His sister says he was threatened since arriving there.

In roughly the same time that there have been four killings at Sterling, there have been a total of three murders at other state prisons.
