PARIS — A French court convicted Venezuelan terrorist legend Ilich Ramirez Sanchez, a.k.a. Carlos the Jackal, of carrying out a bombing campaign in France in 1982 and 1983 and sentenced him to life imprisonment with a minimum of 18 years in jail.
The 62-year-old Venezuelan is already serving a life sentence in France for killing two French police agents and a Lebanese informant in 1975. Thursday’s additional sentence means he will probably die in jail.
