The skinny: If Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is talking about his head coach’s job security, it must be December. But Jones went to great lengths this week to support Jason Garrett, even after some late-game meltdowns that have seen Dallas fall back in the playoff race. The Cowboys were 7-4 and in the NFC East lead until back-to-back losses to the Cardinals and Giants. The Cowboys have won the last three meetings.
The difference will be: How Cowboys QB Tony Romo handles the stretch run. This team has gone the way of Romo this season.
When he’s on, avoids turnovers and plays with some composure, the Cowboys look like a playoff contender. When he rushes throws and misses receivers, the whole team seems to be deflated.
