DENVER – About 25 to 30 people marched down 1st Avenue Saturday, blocking traffic along 1st Avenue between the shops in Cherry Creek North and Cherry Creek Shopping Center.
The protestors walked from Hungarian Park near Speer Boulevard and Clarkson Street to the Cherry Creek area. The group briefly blocked the entrance to the mall near Neiman Marcus and California Pizza Kitchen and completely blocked traffic along 1st Avenue.
Police detained one man, who was dressed as Santa, for trespassing.
The group appeared to be protesting big business and consumerism, some identifying themselves as Occupy Denver members.
