STAMFORD, Conn. — Fire tore through a house in a tony Stamford neighborhood on Christmas morning, killing five people, including three children. Firefighters were able to rescue two adults, said Acting Fire Chief Antonio Conte. He said fire officials didn’t know the cause of the blaze. The house was being renovated.

The New York Times reported that advertising executive Madonna Badger, 47, owned the house and survived with an unknown male, but her three children under age 10 and her parents were the victims.
