The man who died in a Lakewood house fire on Christmas Eve was identified Tuesday as 42-year-old Todd Randall Gardner.
Police and investigators from West Metro Fire Rescue are working to determine where the fire started in the home and what caused it, according to the Lakewood Police Department.
Two children and two dogs escaped the blaze, which started shortly before 1:30 a.m.
The children’s names had not been released.
When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found smoke spewing from the home, at 12123 W. Maryland Drive.
It took 35 firefighters about 45 minutes to extinguish the blaze.
