ST. MARY’S — About 250 residents in the small mountain town of St. Mary’s have been without water since Dec. 18 because of a water- main break. Officials say it could be another week before water is restored.
7News reported crews are chipping, cutting and digging through frozen tundra to find the break. St. Mary’s Water and Sanitation District board president John Pacetta said water came up to the surface away from the break.
Residents of the town at 10,500 feet are driving about an hour roundtrip to shower at the Clear Creek Metro Recreation Center in Idaho Springs.
