CONTESTS
Quilting design contest Through June 1: Swarovski Elements hosts its inaugural “Create Your Style” art quilting design contest to encourage quilters to use unique materials in their traditional quilt designs. Applications must be submitted by June 1. Thirty semifinalists will be chosen, and 10 will be selected to attend the 2012 Quilt Festival in November, where the top three winners will be announced.

Mondo Guerra’s Viewing Parties
Jan. 5:Guerra, a finale on Season 8 of “Project Runway,” returns in the new series “Project Runway All Stars” debuting Jan. 5 on cable’s Lifetime. Guerra will host weekly viewing parties every Thursday that include special guests, activities and prizes, all connected to the theme of that week’s show. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m. Admission is free, accepting donations to support the Colorado AIDS Project. The series
