COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—A 26-year-old man has been arrested after his 49-year-old mother was fatally shot in a home southeast of Colorado Springs.
El Paso County Sheriff’s Lt. Lari Sevene (LAHR’-ee suh-VEEN’) says Rayshawn Laster was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder early Saturday and is being held without bail.
It wasn’t known whether he had an attorney.
Sevene says Laster’s mother, Brenda Taylor, was found shortly before 8 p.m. Friday with a gunshot wound in her head. She died after she was taken to a hospital.
