DENVER—A special pair of Colorado water lilies are at risk after Denver drained a lake as part of a restoration project.
The Denver Delight and Bea Taplin water lilies have thrived for more than half a century in Berkeley Lake in northwest Denver.
Denver Parks and Recreation spokeswoman Angela Casias tells the Denver Post () the lilies are not native to Colorado. She says crews will try to introduce more native species to the lake when it is refilled.
