CIUDAD VICTORIA, Mexico — Authorities says 31 inmates have been killed by fighting in a northern Mexico prison.
The Tamaulipas state Public Safety Department said the inmates were killed with makeshift knives during a fight Wednesday in a state prison in the Gulf Coast city of Altamira. The department said another 13 prisoners were hurt.
