Practice attendance improved slightly today for the Broncos, with starting wide receiver Eddie Royal returning to the field. Royal was held out of Wednesday’s practice because of a toe injury.
That’s the good news for the Broncos’ offense and special teams.
The defense, however, is still without safety Brian Dawkins, who is watching practice from the sideline for the fifth-consecutive session dating back to early last week. Dawkins has missed most or all of the past four games with a neck injury.
The fact that Dawkins isn’t practicing today hurts his chances to play in Sunday’s first-round playoff game against the Steelers.
The only other Bronco missing from practice today is fullback Spencer Larsen, who suffered a sprained MCL last week against Kansas City.
Broncos coach John Fox, defensive coordinator Dennis Allen and offensive coordinator Mike McCoy will meet with the media after practice, around 1:15 p.m.
