BOSTON — Joseph P. Kennedy III, a grandson of Robert F. Kennedy, announced Thursday that he was leaving his job as a prosecutor to explore running for Congress as a Democrat in the state’s 4th District to replace Rep. Barney Frank, who is retiring.
Kennedy, 31, said he would soon form an exploratory committee, a key step that will allow him to start raising money.
