COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Colorado Springs firefighters say two El Paso County sheriff’s deputies and one Colorado Springs police officer have been hurt in a motorcycle accident during a training exercise.
Colorado Springs television station KKTV reports ( ) all three were taken to a hospital Friday with injuries that were not believed to be life threatening.
The accident happened near the Colorado Springs airport as the officers were practicing escorting duties to prepare for politicians who might visit the area during the election season.
Investigators say one officer was merging back into the escort group when he clipped another motorcycle, causing a chain reaction crash.
