A goose that survived when it was intentionally struck by an SUV on Sunday died overnight Thursday, according to officials at the Greenwood Wildlife Rehabilitation Center.

Police have identified three Longmont High School students suspected of intentionally running over the geese.

Police report that witnesses watched as a white SUV stopped near 12th Avenue and Sumner Street. One teenager got out of the SUV, herded a group of the birds out of a nearby yard and into the roadway.

The driver then accelerated into the animals, immediately killing three. The teens then left the area in the SUV.

Witnesses then retrieved the injured goose, which was later named “Victor” at the rehabilitation center, and waved down a passing police officer to report the incident.

Witnesses and tipsters helped to identify the three teenagers. Get more at .
