Less than 24 hours after more than 50 Occupy Boulder protesters were dancing in defiance of a new city rule closing parks overnight, the Occupy Boulder encampment in Sister Cities Plaza appears to have been abandoned.

As night fell and snow began to cover the ground Saturday evening, only three empty tents remained at the encampment. There were some clothes and furniture also left behind, but very few other signs of the people who participated in the dance party the group held late Friday night.

Kim Kobel, a spokeswoman with the Boulder Police Department, said officers last night did not enforce the city manager’s new rule closing parks between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. Two officers gave the group a warning after receiving a noise complaint just before 11 p.m. Friday, but Kobel said no tickets were issued.
