BOULDER, Colo.—Boulder is losing hundreds of thousands of dollars after losing a challenge of state census figures.
The 2010 census showed that Boulder had just over 97,000 residents, about 3,000 short of the 100,000 needed to qualify for federal and state grants providing money for energy and weatherization projects.
According to the Boulder Daily Camera ( ), Boulder officials told the State Demography Office it estimated the city’s population closer to 103,000.
