WESTMINSTER, Colo.—Westminster police say they have arrested two people suspected of mugging a 91-year-old Marine Corps veteran on Veterans Day.
The veteran had gone grocery shopping that day with his wife. KUSA-TV in Denver reports ( ) 33-year-old Jose Luis Pizarro and 44-year-old Jill Erickson are suspected of following him from the store, attacking him from behind and stealing his wallet as he unloaded groceries outside his home. The veteran had escorted his wife inside before he started unloading groceries.
Westminster police say a tip led to the arrests.
Pizarro and Erickson face charges of robbery to an at-risk adult and possession of methamphetamine. Pizarro also faces a charge of third-degree assault.
