As part of routine maintenance, crews will be patching potholes and sealing cracks along a number of roadways this morning.

There will be alternating lane closures in both directions on Kipling Parkway, as crews seal cracks in the ceiling of overpasses, said Stacey Stegman, spokeswoman for the Colorado Department of Transportation.

The lane closures will begin at 9 a.m. and last through 3 p.m. Lanes will be closed along Kipling Parkway, between Jewell Avenue and U.S. Highway 285.

“The moisture kind of gets in the cracks, freezes and causes problems,” Stegman said. “That’s why after the storms we start to see more of this.”

One lane will be closed on westbound Interstate 70 near Powhatan Road, for routine pothole patching. The right lane will be closed until 3 p.m.

Major delays are not expected.
