COLORADO SPRINGS — The Tigers scored twice in the first period and held on Friday night to win the opener of the two-game Western Collegiate Hockey Association series.

Alexander Krushelnyski and Scott Winkler each had a goal and an assist for the Tigers (13-7-1, 10-5-0), who were outshot 33-26.

Nick Dineen also had a goal, while Tigers goalie Josh Thorimbert made 14 of his 32 saves in the third period.

Nick Jensen had the only goal for St. Cloud State (8-11-4, 5-7-3), coming on the power play at 14:04 of the second period. Ryan Faragher had 23 saves for the Huskies.

Bentley 2, Air Force 2 (OT)

AIR FORCE ACADEMY — Kyle DeLaurell and John Kruse scored goals for the Falcons, who outshot Bentley 42-22 but could not get the tiebreaker in the net in regulation or overtime.

“They are a tough team to play against,” Falcons coach Frank Serratore said. “We had way too many turnovers in the first two periods. … We just have to work smarter.”

Brett Gensler and Alex Grieve scored for Bentley. Air Force goalie Stephen Caple stopped 20-of-22 shots, and Bentley netminder Branden Kromm stopped 40-of-42.
