PUEBLO — A Pueblo police officer is facing misdemeanor charges of assault, falsifying documents, oppression and misconduct stemming from an incident at a bar.
The Pueblo Chieftain reported 26-year-old Derek Wyberg and fellow Officers Thomas DeCesaro and Antoinette Ramos were on duty and checking on a bar in April when they arrested Nick Falletta after a scuffle. Falletta’s friend was dating Wyberg’s ex-girlfriend.
Falletta’s attorney, Jim Carleo, contends Wyberg falsified a report on the scuffle to make it look as if Falletta provoked the officers. Charges against Falletta were later dismissed.
