DENVER—Most major highways in Colorado are open after a fast-moving snow storm slid through the state over the holiday weekend.
Colorado Department of Transportation spokesman Ryan Drake said Tuesday Colorado Highway 285 is still closed at the New Mexico state line because of blowing snow and low visibility.
According to the Colorado Avalanche Information Center, up to 9 inches of snow fell in some mountain areas, creating a considerable danger of avalanche in some backcountry areas.
Drake says other areas received up to four inches of snow.
