PUEBLO, Colo.—A state audit has found the Colorado State Fair reported a loss of $380,000 in fiscal year 2011.
KOAA-TV reported Tuesday () that the Pueblo-based fair has reported increasing losses over the past five years.
Chris Wiseman is the fair’s general manager. He said sponsorships are down and costs are up. But he insisted the fair, which marks its 140th anniversary this year, isn’t in jeopardy—and that the fair generates $30 million in economic activity across Colorado each year.
The Office of the State Auditor performed the audit.
