GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—The Colorado State Patrol is limiting the way one of its dispatch centers releases information to the media after the agency inadvertently disclosed private information of three community corrections inmates.
The agency’s dispatch center in Montrose on Saturday issued an alert asking law enforcement agencies to be on the lookout for three men who walked away from an Alamosa community corrections program. The release contained the inmates’ Social Security numbers and driver’s license numbers.
According to the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel (), the notification should have only gone out to police agencies.
