DENVER—Jefferson County prosecutors say a Wheat Ridge hospice worker allegedly collected $30,000 in donations by falsely claiming she had cancer.

KMGH-TV reported Tuesday ( ) that Jennifer Stover was indicted by a grand jury on charges of theft and charitable fraud.

The indictment says Stover never had cancer and collected more than $30,000 from 16 people. She worked at Collier Hospice in Wheat Ridge.

Stover turned herself in to authorities on Tuesday. Bond was set at $5,000.
