A Centennial company that sold anabolic steroids disguised as dietary supplements was sentenced in federal court Wednesday to one year of probation.
Axis Labs was also ordered to pay $107,000 to an asset forfeiture fund and another $50,000 in fines, according to the U.S. Attorney’s office in Colorado.
In 2008 and 2009, Axis sold a product called “Monster Caps” that it marketed as a supplement when it knew the product actually contained synthetic steroids and was subject to Food and Drug Administration controls, according to a plea agreement in the case. The company pleaded guilty last year to mail fraud.
