Real estate developers with interests in downtown Loveland projects have a quick, easy way to let their intentions be known with unanimous approval by city councilors Tuesday of a new gateway for proposals.
An Internet portal setting forth a “request for expressions of interest” will go live this week, with the city’s economic development department hoping that the softer, friendlier avenue will yield plans “that get shovels in the ground,” as Loveland senior planner Mike Scholl told councilors.
A much more rigorous request for proposals that the city floated last year, one that required substantial investments of time and money from potential developers, yielded just one firm project.
