The fourth in a series of Wideband Global SATCOM, or WGS, satellites that Boeing has built for the Air Force is scheduled for launch today. The communications satellite aims to provide enhanced intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities for troops in the field.
United Launch Alliance of Centennial is providing the Delta IV rocket. The launch window opens at 5:38 p.m. MST at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida.
