COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Four people have been arrested after federal authorities say they transported 7 pounds of methamphetamine from California to Colorado Springs.

Drug Enforcement Administration officials say three of the suspects are from Los Angeles, while a fourth is from Salinas, California. The four were arrested Thursday at a motel in Colorado Springs. DEA spokesman Mike Turner says agents found methamphetamine in a hidden compartment of a vehicle.

The arrests are a result of an investigation by the DEA’s Southern Colorado Drug Task Force, which includes federal agents and law enforcement personnel from the Colorado Springs and Pueblo police departments, El Paso and Pueblo sheriffs’ departments, and the Colorado State Patrol.

Since October, the task force has seized 70 pounds of methamphetamine and made 24 arrests.
