GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo.—Garfield County has suspended its search for a new county manager after the county attorney said commissioners violated Colorado’s Open Meetings law.

County attorney Andrew Gorgey says commissioners violated the law when they held a Jan. 9 closed-door meeting with their hired search consultant.

According to the Glenwood Springs Post Independent (), the consulting firm of Peckham & McKenney has been asked to cease drafting a job description for the manager’s position.

Gorgey says some of the topics covered in the meeting fell outside topics allowed in executive sessions.
