A fugitive who escaped from an Alamosa halfway house was captured by U.S. Marshals this afternoon.

Silas Anthony Padilla, 24, was arrested at a Motel 6 in Lakewood by members of a police task force, said Charlie Ahmad, a deputy U.S. marshal.

Two other 24-year-old fugitives who escaped with Padilla – Shane Ray Bursie and Alexander Reosle Smith – are still on the run.

“We are working feverishly, as well, to find them,” Ahmad said.

The trio ran from the San Luis Valley Community Corrections halfway house about midnight on Saturday after severely beating a fellow resident, according to the Colorado Department of Corrections.

Each of the three will face charges related to the assault and the escape.

Bursie, of Edgewater, is 5 foot 4 and 154 pounds. Smith is from Alamosa and is 5 foot 7 and 180 pounds.
