A body recovered Tuesday from the Colorado River in Garfield County has been identified as that of a fisherman who went missing in October.

The fisherman, Bill Browne, 52, from Houston, had been fishing with friends on Oct. 14, when his boat collided with an overpass pillar ejecting all three men into the water.

Two men survived, but rescue groups were unable to locate Browne after several days of searching.

Just before 1 p.m. on Tuesday, the Rifle Police Department responded to a call of a possible body in the river, near the Rifle boat ramp.

Several agencies assisted in the recovery of the body, as well as the initial search.
