According to the Daily Camera, a former Boulder County deputy accused of Internet exploitation of children told investigators in November that he has been obsessed with young girls for years.

But he said it “escalated and intensified” after he investigated a homicide in the late 1980s in which he “located and recovered dismembered remains” of a victim he knew.

Boulder County Judge John Stavely unsealed the arrest warrant affidavit for Rick Ferguson, 53, during a brief hearing in Boulder District Court on Thursday afternoon, the Camera reported.

Sheriff’s investigators arrested Ferguson in December. The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office placed Ferguson on administrative leave during the investigation, and Ferguson resigned in late December.
