Meg Mallon will be the captain of the 2013 U.S. Solheim Cup team, which will face the European squad at the Colorado Golf Club, it was announced today at the annual PGA merchandise show in Orlando, Fla.
Mallon was the assistant captain in 2009 and played in the semiannual event eight times from 1992-2005. She started on the LPGA Tour in 1987 and has won four majors.
“Meg is a longtime friend of Colorado Golf Club. She knows the course and understands the conditions,” CGC spokesman Tom Ferrell said. “We are happy for her and look forward to doing whatever she asks of us.”
The 2013 Solheim is Aug. 13-18 at the club in Parker.
