DENVER—A robbery suspect wrestled a gun away from an off-duty officer and a shot was fired into a drugstore’s ceiling during the struggle.
Nobody was injured Thursday during the incident at a Walgreens. Police spokesman Lt. Matt Murray told KMGH-TV ( ) that a female officer who was at the pharmacy to get a prescription filled saw two suspects and jumped over a counter while in pursuit.
One of the robbers managed to wrestle the gun away from the officer. The suspect then allegedly used the officer’s gun to steal a getaway car, while another drove away in another vehicle.
Police were searching for the suspects.
