The Shaun Watch took another twist Friday when Shaun White had to withdraw from the slopestyle snowboard event, which was something he had been focusing on. White re-injured a sprained left ankle during practice Friday morning on the slope course. “I’m disappointed. My priority this year was to ride in slopestyle, and unfortunately I hit my ankle again,” White told ESPN. “I’m going to rest up and get ready to ride pipe on Sunday.” There are superpipe practice sessions tonight at 7 and Sunday at 10 a.m. The pipe qualifier is 12:15 p.m. Sunday, with the finals at 7:45 p.m. White, who has competed in the event every year since 2000, has won the X Games superpipe six times, including the past four.
