DENVER—Colorado authorities are scratching their heads over a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that tracking cell phones could violate a defendant’s rights.
In one case, two men were arrested after they pointed a gun at the owner of a Lakewood convenience store last December and emptied the cash register, taking the victim’s phone. The store owner gave authorities permission to track his phone.
According to the Denver Post (), Colorado has no law on access to cell-phone records and many law enforcement agencies have their own policies.
