Dr. M. Roy Wilson, former chancellor of the University of Colorado campuses in Denver and Aurora, has been appointed deputy director of strategic scientific planning and program coordination for the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities, the organization said today.

The NIMHD is part of the National Institutes of Health.

Wilson resigned as administrator of CU’s Aurora and Denver campuses in May 2010 after four years.

He was then chairman of the board of trustees at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science in Los Angeles and served as acting president in 2010 and 2011.

He previously served as president of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Amarillo; and dean of the Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Neb.
