COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—A billboard sponsored by atheists is raising the hackles of conservatives in Colorado Springs by questioning the existence of God.

The Boulder Atheist Group spent $1,200 on three billboards around Colorado. The group says they hope the billboards advocate a stronger separation of church and state.

According to KOAA-TV ( ), the new billboard on Interstate 25 tells motorists that God is an imaginary friend and people should get real.

A pastor who was not identified says the billboards are allowed under freedom of speech, but he doesn’t agree with the message. He also doesn’t think it will have much of an impact on believers.
