COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—A Colorado man has been charged with arranging the slaying of another man who was hacked to death with a hatchet or machete.
The Colorado Springs Gazette reported Tuesday ( ) that 36-year-old Roger Julius Glover has been charged with first-degree murder.
Glover is accused of soliciting the Aug. 16 death of 20-year-old William Mickle. The coroner says Mickle suffered more than 20 chop wounds to his face.
Glover was originally arrested on Jan. 18 on suspicion of retaliating against a witness. Prosecutors upgraded the charge Monday.
Nineteen-year-old Jordan Rowland has also been charged with first-degree murder. Police say Rowland had Mickle’s severed finger in his pocket when he was arrested.
Arrest affidavits in the case have been sealed.
