COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—A bison that escaped from a truck has been shot and killed by Colorado Springs police.
Police say a truck driver was unloading the animal at a packing company on Tuesday when the bison escaped through a gap between the truck and the ramp.
The animal was chased for several blocks. When a police officer caught up, he killed the animal with one shot.
Police said they had to shoot the animal because bison are unpredictable and can get dangerously wild while running loose.
