Denver attorney Willie Shepherd pleaded guilty to attempted third-degree assault in a plea deal stemming from a domestic-violence charge in September. On Tuesday, he was sentenced to 12 months of supervised probation, state court documents say.
Shepherd, 44, the former finance co-chairman of the Democratic National Convention host committee, was originally charged with negligent child abuse and third-degree assault that knowingly caused injury. Those charges were dismissed, and Shepherd pleaded guilty to the Class 2 misdemeanor.
