Colorado Mammoth forwards John Grant Jr. and Adam Jones have been named the National Lacrosse League’s player of the month and rookie of the month, respectively, for their performances in January.

“John and Adam showed that they’re a lethal 1-2 punch,” Mammoth president and general manager Steve Govett said.

Grant leads the NLL in goals (16), assists (21) and points (37), and he led or shared the team lead in all three offensive categories in every game this season. He is on pace for a record-shattering 148 points, which would surpass the NLL single-season record of 115.

Jones, the third overall pick in September’s NLL Entry Draft, leads all rookies in goals (12) and points (22) and is second in assists (10). The 22-year-old’s goal total ranks third in the entire league.
