Ask the average basketball fan to name a pro team that played in the Twin Cities before the Minnesota Timberwolves, and they will offer a quick answer: the Minneapolis Lakers. But many have forgotten the Minnesota Muskies, who played one season (1967-68) in the American Basketball Association. The Timberwolves gave fans a history lesson Wednesday night when they donned the Muskies uniforms for a game against the Indiana Pacers. They plan on wearing the throwback jerseys six times this season. The Muskies took their talents to South Beach and became the Miami Floridians in 1968.
