Getting your player ready...
The recent cold snap put skim ice on many Front Range waters, killing the open-water fishing and creating unsafe ice. Bear Creek, Evergreen, Georgetown and Chatfield are the best bets for low-elevation ice fishers. Granby remains good for small lake trout and nearby Willow Creek Reservoir is producing good numbers of rainbows. South Park waters are sporting thick ice and slow action; it’s better to head to North Park, where good trout action can be had, especially at nearby North Michigan. Fly-fishermen are finding fair action on the South Platte below Chatfield, Arkansas in Pueblo and Poudre in Fort Collins.
