GREELEY, Colo.—In heavily Republican Weld County, party officials expect around 5,000 people to participate in the GOP presidential caucus.
County GOP chairwoman Karen Pelzer says that’s a high number. At least one participant says he hasn’t made up his mind yet going into Tuesday’s night’s meetings being held across the state in schools, hotels, senior centers and other venues.
Seventy-four-year-old Greeley Republican LeRoy Ball told the Greeley Tribune ( ) that he’s narrowed his choice to two, but says he’ll listen as supporters for each candidate make their case before he casts his ballot.
One thing Ball knows for sure. He says he doesn’t like the fighting between the candidates. He says the race should be about the issues.
Weld County has about 46,000 registered Republican voters.
