WALSH, Colo.—Ten houses in a small southeastern Colorado town have been evacuated after a tank holding a form of ammonia ruptured.
A Baca County Emergency Management official said that the small sealed tank fell off a truck and ruptured on Wednesday. The tank now appears to be empty except for some vapors.
The sheriff’s office said the homes have been evacuated as a precaution and a hazardous material team has been requested.
