Hall of fame honors barry fey, harry tuft

Sunday. Any shortlist of Colorado Music Hall of Fame inductees should include legendary promoter Barry Fey and folk music champion Harry Tuft. Each has, in his own way, been responsible for a large chunk of our state’s music culture, from Fey’s work with the Who, Led Zeppelin and U2 to Tuft’s founding of the Denver Folklore Center. They’ll get their due Sunday at a charity dinner when the nonprofit hall, located inside Broomfield’s 1stBank Center, holds its latest induction ceremony, with speeches from “eTown’s” Nick Forster, comedian Kevin Fitzgerald and live music from Firefall, Otis Taylor, Grubstake, Chris Daniels and Rob Drabkin. A portion of the proceeds from the dinner, at CU-Boulder’s Stadium Club at Folsom Field, will go to the CU School of Music. 3 p.m. Sunday. 2400 Colorado Ave. in Boulder. $75- $175. . John Wenzel

Art

Still and the beats

Today. Painter Clyfford Still worked for a good part of the 20th century, and his best paintings were created during the golden era of the Beat poets. While his abstract expressionist creations were helping to rewrite the rules of painting, their free-form words inspired people to see new possibilities in verse. That commonality is explored at “Beat Poetry at the Dikeou Collection,” an event where local poets will present custom-lit inspired by Still’s output. Free. 7 p.m. 1615 California St. .Ray Mark Rinaldi
