The Colorado State softball team opened the season with a 10-2 victory over Texas-San Antonio on Friday, then fell to Cal State Fullerton 13-10 later in the day at Austin, Texas.
Against UTSA, the Rams sealed an eight-run lead in the fourth inning with an RBI groundout, two RBI singles and a run on an error to end the game in five innings.
In the second game, the Rams jumped out to an eight-run lead in the second inning, which included Chelsea Biglow’s two-run home run to left field. Biglow finished the day 3-for-7 with four RBIs.
The Titans overcame the deficit and scored five runs in the final inning to secure the victory.
The Rams will face No. 18/19 Texas today at noon, followed by an opponent to be determined by a round-robin format at the Texas Invitational.
